ELECTRICAL PROJECT MANAGER – CARDIFF

An exciting opportunity to join one of South Wales leading electrical companies.

This position would suit an experienced Site Supervisor looking to take the next step up or a fully fledged PM to work on some exciting renewable projects across the country.

PV / Solar experience is ESSENTIAL.

Your Package will be:

Our requirements of you (qualifications/experience):

  • SSSTS / SMSTS (preferred – but we are prepared to supply the training for the right candidate).
  • Experience / history of electrical projects delivered, but we will consider candidates looking to step up, if they have the right skills and abilities to develop.
  • Qualified Electrician.
  • Driver’s licence necessary.

What your Roles & Responsibilities will be

The following list is not exhaustive of in respect of day-to-day duties that will change as needed to meet the needs of the business.

  • Receive a tender from the pre-con department through a handover process, open discussion on the scheme parameters, design, agreements in place, finances, contract, programme.
  • Overall responsibility for the scheme in terms of delivery, design, procurement, finances and labour control to meet programme, design and client meetings as required. Ensuring that all relevant documents and information are filed in project folders and on the company server, this is a critical role, therefore must be kept up to date.
  • Attain a complete working knowledge of specification and drawings to begin design, overall strategic planning of the scheme and draw up programme, procurement schedule, raise technical submissions and plan labour as needed.
  • Commence negotiations with manufacturers and subcontractors in line with technical delivery requirements. Collaborating with designated team members on said procurement in line with company standards and expectations, to include best value, bulk buying and measuring of subcontractor packages for best value. All Packages to have Tech/Prelet meeting prior to order with QS. Site Manager procurement lists to be checked/checked for clarity and relevance to scheme.
  • Once site managers in place choose their roles and responsibilities as required for delivery at site level to include all H&S responsibilities and management of PPE.
  • Ensure the full compliance of all operatives to our company policies and procedures to include qualifications/accreditations.
  • H&S will be managed by you in full compliance with company standards and expectations as well as HSE guidelines.
  • Health and safety pack management, (Daily, weekly, monthly) to be correctly completed as directed by H&S management, ensuring that site manager is correctly using the Health and Safe operational procedures and systems.
  • Ordering of all plant whether company owed or hired via Evans buyer, responsibility of protection of this plant, management of plant, return of plant and safety checks by you in full compliance with manufacturers and hire companies’ terms and conditions of use and returns policy as well as our company standards and expectations as well as HSE guidelines.
  • Day to day operations at site level to be managed with support of your site managers, full compliance of all main contractor requirements to supply a smooth delivery for the client.
  • Attendance of main contractor and client meetings as needed to deliver the scheme, with the support of designated team members as needed.
  • Reporting of monthly progress to the business as designated or within the interim as asked.
  • Monthly application meetings with designated team member to include progress and awareness of any potential commercial issues, such as programme failure by us or others.
  • Management of all subcontractors to include their full compliance to our company polices and procedures including H&S, quality, working practises and full compliance of their installation to the specifications and drawings accordingly.
  • Provision of all necessary documentation and reporting as required by our company or the main contractor and client team accordingly.
  • Provision of or management of commissioning programme to include the management of delivering this programme.
  • Coordination of all manufacturers and subcontractors to deliver all services and products in line with this commissioning programme.
  • Handover of the scheme in full compliance of contract documents and client expectations collaborating with designated team members as required.
  • Provisions of all ‘As Fitted’ documentation, OMM delivery as needed for each scheme. Management and checks on all packages delivered by subcontractors is as contract documents and client requirements and expectations.
  • Manage and coordinate the signing of any defects as needed.
  • Coordinate and deliver soft landing / Client handover / Training as needed.
